Jesus Calms the Storms. Rev. Jon Earls. Introduction: Robert Munger was in a storm, this is his story in his own words, he wrote: Being assaulted by winds and walls of waves and a wildly tossing sea was like being run over a train in a dark tunnel. We knew the typhoon was coming, but I for one hadn’t expected it to pack such a wallop. Yet in truth, Jesus was sleeping in the boat’s helm because he didn’t share the disciples’ fear. He cared hugely for them, but He was confident in the Father’s love to such a degree that the storm did not unsettle His peace.

make make me me me get get get Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. Either we believe God is who He says He is – good Father, Father to the fatherless, defender of the widow, shelter from the storm – or, He is not. And He IS who He says He is.

The grammatical context indicates the ceasing was immediate. The wind did not die down over time.

When I speak at parishes and conferences around the country, one of my favorite Bible passages to discuss is “Jesus Calms The Storm At Sea” (Matthew 8:23-27). Basically, the disciples follow Jesus into a boat, a great storm arises, and the Lord calms the sea.

Jesus will speak to you in your storm. Jesus came and He spoke, “It is I. Do not be afraid.” Notice He didn’t say, “Do not be afraid,” before he said, “It is I.” You can’t experience the word of Jesus before you have the presence of Jesus. Don't speak to Jesus in fear.

When Jesus speaks to calm the storm, Mark indicates that He addresses more than a meteorological force but a being behind it. When He commands the sea, "Peace, be still!" the Greek phrase means "be muzzled or gagged," as though the storm were a maniac that had to be bound and restrained.

Jesus Calms the STORM - Peace be still. This Gospel cartoon features Jesus calming the storm with the words TALK TO THE HAND.. paraphrase of Peace Be Still. You will go up, you will come like a storm; you will be like a cloud covering the land, you and all your troops, and many peoples with you.” Matthew 7:24-27 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.

Jesus speaks to the storm

When the disciples were afraid during the storm, they asked Jesus to help them.

He says that our hearts are wicked like the stormy sea but when we listen to the law of Christ and be still in front of an awesome God, we can rest. We are in a constant battle in our minds between feelings of faith and feelings of fear.

2 Sep 2016 Jesus sent His disciples in a boat across the Sea of Galilee one day knowing they would encounter a storm. The storm was so fierce that even

Jesus had been teaching near the Sea of Galilee. Afterwards, He wanted a respite from the crowds so decided to take a boat with the apostles to the opposite shore where there were no large towns (Mark 4:35–36). The Bible reports not long after they sailed, Jesus fell asleep and a storm arose (Luke 8:23). The Sea of Galilee is known for sudden raging storms, and many of Jesus’ disciples were seasoned fishermen. So, it would seem the disciples would have been prepared. But things were happening beyond their control, or so they thought. Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat.
